Best routes for Volotea

Volotea overview

Volotea is a Spanish low-cost airline operating short- and medium-haul routes, mainly between small and mid-sized European cities. The V7 code refers to Volotea, S.L., registered in Spain and operating under the Volotea brand.

Volotea passenger rules are closely tied to the fare, membership and add-ons selected during booking. Baggage, seat selection, check-in, priority boarding, Flex, pets and special assistance should be checked in the booking before departure.

Volotea routes

Volotea flights focus on direct European routes, including many leisure, island and regional links. Examples of routes may include services from Nantes, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Lille, Verona, Venice, Palermo, Cagliari, Olbia, Athens, Heraklion, Santorini, Bilbao, Asturias, Malaga, Alicante, Dubrovnik, Split and Marrakech.

  • Typical regions: Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Portugal and selected Mediterranean or North African destinations.
  • Many routes are seasonal and can depend on base, airport, travel date and aircraft availability.
  • Volotea often connects secondary cities and holiday destinations where schedules may operate only on selected days.
  • Use iFly.ua to search Volotea flights by route and travel dates.

Volotea baggage

Volotea baggage depends on whether Priority Boarding, Megavolotea, Megavolotea Plus or other add-ons are included. Without Priority Boarding, each passenger may bring one small bag in the cabin, up to 40 x 30 x 20 cm, placed under the seat in front.

With Priority Boarding, passengers may bring one small bag plus one cabin bag up to 55 x 40 x 25 cm, with a combined cabin baggage limit of 10 kg. Checked baggage can be added as 10 kg, 20 kg or 25 kg bags. Each passenger may check in up to five pieces and up to 50 kg total; excess weight is charged per kg, and each checked or special item may not exceed 32 kg.

Volotea check-in

Volotea online check-in is available on the website and mobile app by entering the booking reference and passenger surname or contact email. If a seat has been purchased, boarding passes can usually be downloaded after booking; if not, free online check-in is normally available from 4 days and up to 2.5 hours before departure.

Passengers who prefer a printed boarding pass can buy Airport Check-in from EUR 10 per passenger. If this service has not been booked and the passenger arrives without a printed or downloaded boarding pass, the airport counter fee is listed as EUR 30 per passenger. Volotea recommends arriving at the airport at least 2.5 hours before the flight, and special cases such as babies, pets, guide dogs, special assistance, standby tickets, weapons or selected airports may require airport check-in.

Volotea fares and services

Volotea uses a base ticket plus optional products rather than a traditional multi-cabin fare structure. Standard baggage includes one small under-seat bag. Megavolotea members may receive a 10 kg cabin bag subject to space, while Megavolotea Plus includes a 10 kg cabin bag and Priority Boarding. Priority Boarding can also be bought as a separate add-on from EUR 9.

Flex is an optional service for more flexible changes. With Flex, passengers can make unlimited flight changes without the standard change fee up to 4 hours before departure, subject to any fare difference; without Flex, changes are only allowed up to 7 days before departure. Flex cancellation refunds are credited as Volotea credit and do not include the Flex fee or card payment fees.

Volotea services

Additional Volotea services may include Priority Boarding, seat selection, checked baggage, special baggage, sports equipment, musical instruments, Flex, airport check-in, pets, special assistance, travel documents support, children and infant services, onboard food, Volotea Media entertainment and other booking extras.

Onboard menu items can be added to a reservation from EUR 3.10, and food availability may depend on stock, departure point and flight time. Volotea Media offers entertainment on selected aircraft through the onboard Volotea Wi-Fi network; this is an entertainment network and availability can depend on aircraft.

Volotea pets

Volotea accepts small dogs and cats in the cabin on eligible flights, subject to availability, documents and route rules. Pet, carrier and accessories together may weigh up to 10 kg, and the approved non-rigid carrier may measure up to 50 x 40 x 20 cm.

Only one pet is allowed per passenger and Volotea lists a quota of 5 pets per flight. Permitted pets must be at least 8 weeks old. The pet must remain inside the carrier from boarding until arrival after leaving the aircraft. The pet service is listed from EUR 39.
