SkyUp is an aviation brand with Ukrainian roots and commercial activity across scheduled flights, ACMI, charter and special flights. For the U5 code, the operating company is SkyUp MT Limited, a Malta-registered carrier. This profile focuses on useful passenger details: SkyUp routes, baggage, check-in, fares, services, pets and contacts.

Best routes for SkyUp

SkyUp overview

SkyUp describes itself as an international brand with Ukrainian roots. The brand was founded in June 2017, and the first SkyUp flight took place on 21 May 2018. Before the closure of Ukrainian airspace, the business model combined scheduled and charter flights; after that, SkyUp moved much of its operation to Europe, focusing on ACMI contracts, charter flights, special flights and scheduled services sold through the SkyUp website.

The U5 code belongs to SkyUp MT Limited, the Malta-registered SkyUp carrier. The broader SkyUp brand also includes SkyUp Airlines LLC in Ukraine and SKY UP NISTRU S.R.L. in Moldova. For passengers this means that the ticket, operating carrier and departure country matter: baggage, check-in, extra services and support channels can depend on the exact operating company and route.

SkyUp publishes a Boeing 737 medium-haul fleet and highlights commercial work for tour operators, partner airlines and direct passengers. The official site lists regular route examples, ACMI and charter activity, aircraft information, fare rules and detailed paid-service tables.

SkyUp routes

SkyUp routes are schedule-dependent and can differ between regular, charter, ACMI and special flights. The official SkyUp site lists many passenger routes connected with Chisinau, plus selected seasonal or partner-market routes from airports in Poland, Romania and other European points. Examples below should be checked for a specific date before booking.

  • Examples from Chisinau may include Alicante, Athens, Barcelona, Basel, Berlin, Dublin, Frankfurt, Lisbon, Madrid, Malaga, Nice, Palma de Mallorca, Paris CDG, Paris Beauvais, Prague, Rimini, Stockholm, Tel Aviv, Tbilisi, Tenerife, Tirana, Tivat, Larnaca, Heraklion, Rhodes, Zakynthos, Corfu and Thessaloniki.
  • Other official route examples may include Warsaw to Larnaca or Heraklion, Katowice to Larnaca, Heraklion or Burgas, Bucharest to Larnaca or Heraklion, Cluj-Napoca to Larnaca and Rzeszow to Heraklion.
  • ACMI and charter operations are commercial activity for partner airlines, tour operators, funds, associations, sports clubs and other clients; these flights may not appear as standard public routes on every sales channel.
  • For a specific date, confirm the airport, operating carrier, fare and baggage rules, then search SkyUp flights before booking.

SkyUp baggage

SkyUp baggage is built around three fare families. Just Fly includes one cabin bag up to 9 kg and 40x30x20 cm. Fly & Smile includes one cabin bag up to 9 kg and 55x40x20 cm. Fly & Celebrate includes two cabin-baggage pieces: one up to 9 kg and 55x40x20 cm, plus one up to 9 kg and 40x30x20 cm. Extra cabin baggage can be added online or through support from EUR 4 or EUR 8 depending on size; airport and boarding prices are higher.

Checked baggage is not included with Just Fly. Fly & Smile includes one checked bag up to 23 kg for an adult or child. Fly & Celebrate includes one checked bag up to 32 kg for an adult or child. The standard checked-bag limit is 158 cm in the sum of three dimensions, while any single checked bag must not exceed 32 kg or 190x75x65 cm.

Passengers travelling with an infant may take one cabin bag for food and items needed during the flight, up to 5 kg and 40x30x20 cm. Sports equipment is treated as a separate paid baggage item up to 23 kg and up to 330 cm in total dimensions. SkyUp also sells additional checked baggage of 12 kg, 23 kg and 32 kg, with online prices from EUR 10, EUR 15 and EUR 30 respectively.

SkyUp check-in

SkyUp online check-in is available through My Bookings for regular flights and closes 4 hours before departure. The opening time depends on fare: 72 hours before departure for Just Fly, 15 days for Fly & Smile and 30 days for Fly & Celebrate. Charter-flight check-in is handled at the airport and is free of charge.

Airport check-in starts 2.5 hours before departure and normally closes 45 minutes before departure. For Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW), SkyUp publishes a 60-minute closing time from 1 June 2026 because of high passenger traffic and passport-control queues. Boarding starts 45 minutes before departure and ends 20 minutes before departure.

Airport check-in is free with Fly & Celebrate. For other fares, SkyUp publishes an airport check-in fee of EUR 30 per passenger per sector. Passengers should leave extra time for documents, baggage drop, pets, children travelling alone or special assistance.

SkyUp fares and ticket conditions

SkyUp publishes three passenger fare families: Just Fly, Fly & Smile and Fly & Celebrate. Just Fly is the lightest fare: it includes one small cabin bag, does not include checked baggage, does not include advance seat selection and does not allow date, flight or route changes under the published fare table.

Fly & Smile adds a larger included cabin bag, one checked bag up to 23 kg, free seats except rows 1-5 and emergency-exit rows, and paid ticket changes for EUR 50 plus fare difference no later than 12 hours before departure. Downgrade is not permitted, and changes after no-show are not allowed.

Fly & Celebrate is the most flexible published fare: it includes two cabin-baggage pieces, one checked bag up to 32 kg, free seat selection, Priority Line, airport check-in, earlier online check-in and free ticket changes plus fare difference no later than 12 hours before departure. Missed departure can be handled for EUR 50 from 12 hours before departure plus fare difference, and refund is published with a EUR 30 fee no later than 12 hours before departure or as a voucher for the full amount.

SkyUp paid and additional services

SkyUp additional services are sold during ticket purchase, through a website account, via support or through official social media managers. Online service prices are available no later than 4 hours before departure; after that, services are generally sold at airport rates where available.

Published paid services include extra hand baggage, additional checked baggage, excess baggage, oversized baggage, sports equipment, pets in cabin or hold, seat selection, name correction, name change, passenger change, extra passenger seat, stretcher request through the call centre, blocked middle seat, seat change, Priority Line and airport check-in. Priority Line costs EUR 10 online or EUR 25 at the airport and is included with Fly & Celebrate.

Pre-ordered meals are available on regular flights through My Bookings no later than 72 hours before departure. Published meal examples include SkyRolls from EUR 7, SkyBox meals from EUR 16-19, Kids SkyBox from EUR 17 and SkySalads from EUR 12.

SkyUp pets

SkyUp accepts only cats and dogs under its pet-travel rules. A pet in the cabin must be booked and paid no later than 24 hours before departure through the passenger account on the airline website. SkyUp limits cabin pets because only four containers are accepted per aircraft.

For a pet in the cabin, the maximum weight together with the container is 10 kg and the container size is 50x40x25 cm. The published price is EUR 65 online or EUR 70 at the airport. Pets in the luggage compartment can be transported up to 23 kg or 32 kg including container, with container dimensions up to 250 cm in the sum of three dimensions and a maximum of five containers per aircraft. Published prices are EUR 100 or EUR 120 online and EUR 120 or EUR 140 at the airport depending on weight.

Passengers should confirm route, country, veterinary document, container and aircraft requirements before buying a ticket. Service animals and breeds with special needs have separate rules on the official SkyUp pet page.

SkyUp contacts

SkyUp publishes 0 800 30 31 13 as the passenger phone number and uses separate email contacts for its legal entities: SkyUp Airlines LLC, SkyUp MT Limited and SKY UP NISTRU S.R.L. The official site footer also lists the registered offices of the Ukrainian, Maltese and Moldovan companies in the SkyUp brand structure.

For passengers, the practical first steps are My Bookings, the official website account, WOW-Support, official social media managers and the phone channel. Corporate office addresses are useful for legal identification, but bookings, baggage, pets, refunds, additional services and flight-day issues should be handled through passenger support channels.
